Happy time....

in the swing!! Natali was in her swing on Saturday and I went over to watch her for a little while and I saw her smile really big. I went to go get the camera, came back, and she kept smiling for maybe 5 or 6 times. I was talking to her in the baby kind of way the whole time trying to keep her smiling. She loved it! So these are a few of the photos I took - could have gotten a few more if my camera was faster. :) I don't have one of those cool cameras that lets you take a whole lot of pictures in a few seconds. That's okay - these will do and I know there will be lots more smiles to catch!!!!

So we catch Natali doing this sometimes - is she really thinking about rolling over?? Who knows what she is really thinking or doing, but it makes for a good picture. :)

New Things Every Day

Well the little girl is doing something new just about every day it seems. Lately she has been smiling alot and also pushing herself up. Christina can talk to her and Natali just loves it, she will watch her and try really hard to understand what mom is telling her, then she will just put a happy face on and just enjoy listening to mom dote on her, it's easy to do, look at that cute smile!

When I have been holding her lately, she will get in just the right position and push herself up with her arms and hold her head and upper body out away from me for just a few seconds, grunting and carrying on as if it was the hardest task in the entire world, then she will let her little self crash down back into my shoulder when she can hold herself up no longer. It's so exciting to see the new things every day. -Josh

A visit

So Aunt Rebecca came to visit for a week and stayed at our home. We had a wonderful time and had some precious moments between her and Natali. I had a great time watching them together and am so glad for the time Rebecca was here.

Sleeping

Natali loves to sleep in her swing and in this funny position. We will often find her in the morning in the position shown but with her blanket wrapped around her belly if she was swaddled the night before. So funny. But this picture she was just happy on a blanket on the floor one day.

Bath time

So I decided to entertain everyone with some bath time photos. The first couple times Natali didn't like to get a bath, but since has decided it is not so bad. She actually seems to enjoy it and sometimes cries when we take her out of her seat. So much fun bath time is!!!

Hospital stay

So about our adventure after the birth of Natali. On Monday, May 7th, I woke up in the afternoon from a nap feeling chilly which sometimes happens because I get cold easily. But about an hour later and I was still having chills and started not feeling well, I took my temperature and it was 101.7. I don't usually get fevers that high. So later in the evening it crept up to like 102.5 and I was miserable. We called to see if my doctor was on call and she was (thank the Lord for this) and she called in an antibiotic. Josh picked it up and I took it and Tylenol the whole evening. In the morning, my temp was 103.2 or something like that. So we were very concerned at this point, called the doctor and she said to go to the emergency room because she didn't like my fever being so high. (Ok this is a long story and I shouldn't bore you with the details)
So we went to the ER, got lots of bloodwork done, got an I.V. cath with fluids and antibiotics, and watched soap operas with the words on the screen for a few hours. So much fun. So they found out I had a really bad kidney infection and wanted to at least keep me overnight in the hospital. I got to go to post-pardom so Natali could stay in the room. (Thank the Lord again). I ended up having E.Coli infection in my bloodstream and my urinary system and kidneys. This is probaby from the delivery and how not so clean that whole process is. After 5 days of some of the yuckiest days I have had, lots of fluids and antibiotics, good doctors and nurses, lots of help from parents, lots of prayers, and all else that went on, I was able to go home on Mother's Day!! :) It was the best present I could have asked for. So that's that!! Our second hospital trip in a few weeks. Didn't think that would ever happen.

Coming home

So Natali is home and she was greeted by both cats. They were very unsure and sniffed her, then ran the other way. :) It was pretty funny. So here are the pics of the car ride home and the kitties saying "hello" to Natali. More to come on our next adventure we have been through last week.

She's Here!!!!!!

We'll make this quick, because we are very busy new parents now, but here's the vital stats for Natali Nicole Edinger. Born April 27, 2007 at 5:11 pm weighing 7 pouns 0 ounces , 21 1/4 iches, which is tall from what we gather, but that's neither here nor there. Mother and baby are healthy and recovering, we have experienced amazing support from family and lots of visits from friends which lets us know we are loved. We thank you all for praying and caring, we will post pictures as soon as we can get a little sleep and get caught up on the more important things at hand! Me and my kitties....

we love to hang out. :) "Patches", the white cat, loves to lay on my lap or next to me wherever I am. It is pretty funny when she tries to get on my stomach now. She will try to lay down on my belly, then give up and lay somewhere else next to me. As you can see in the second pic, she had moved by my legs but the other cat decided to try the belly. Anyways, they are fun and I am having fun with having my big belly. :) Only a small amount of time left for me to enjoy my belly. Fun stuff.

Frustrating bassinet

Okay, so a bassinet isn't the easiest thing in the world to put together. You sure would think it would be easy. Except that the instructions tell you to put a piece together and then later they tell you it was supposed to be a certain way. Why? So then you have to take it apart and redo what you just spent 5 minutes screwing together. :) But finally it got together and it is pretty cool. It has a vibrate mode, lights, a nightlight, music, and the mobile turns with 3 little cute bears hanging down. Here's the coolest thing - it has a remote control!! I didn't know that til we were unpacking all of the parts. So crazy! So here it the bassinet in all its glory - it will be fun now that the frustration is behind us.

Natali's room

Natali's room is mostly finished. It is all painted, the crib and changing table are up, the new fan is up, and the wallpaper border is up too. Ready for the new tenant to move in!! Well, almost anyways - she can wait until a little closer to the due date and we wouldn't mind. :) We are still looking for a glider chair to go in there and we will be moving a dresser in there as well. Lots of little preparations left to do around the house.

First time for everything

Well, this will be my first blog post. This is quite exciting! and I hope to keep everyone posted on our family and the new addition that will be arriving somewhat soon.
